Cardiff Medsoc Careers Fair

We spent a busy evening at UHW on Thursday 22nd November promoting the benefits of a career in acute medicine. It was great to see so much interest (and very good to see the pizza and doughnuts at the end!). We were particularly pleased to have all four of the ACCS specialties so well represented in the same area and hope we’ve persuaded a few people to consider joining us!

If you missed us there but do want to find out more about our specialty, you can always contact us via this website, email, or social media.

Cardiff Medsoc Careers Fair

We’ll be representing acute medicine at the Cardiff University Medical Society Careers Fair on Thursday 22nd November from 1830-2030 in the Michael Griffiths Education Centre at UHW.

Pop in to speak to us about what a career in acute medicine is like (hint: we’re pretty keen on it!) We’ll have free WAPS and takeAIM merchandise and we’re told that there will also be pizza! 🍕

Further information is available at HEIW.

Specialist Skill Bursary

As in previous years, the Wales acute medicine STC would like to offer a bursary of £400 to a Welsh Acute Medicine registrar (ST3+) in order to help to fund the cost of acquiring their specialist skill.

Trainees should look out for an email from the STC over the next few weeks containing instructions on how to apply!

If you’re still considering your choice of specialist skill, have a look at the current list of approved skills from the JRCPTB.

Newport Careers Fair

Carys, Tom, and Madge spent their afternoon promoting acute medicine to medical students and junior doctors at the Royal Gwent medical careers fair today. A good quantity of WAPS and takeAIM merchandise was dished out!

If you missed us there but you’d still like to find out more about acute medicine, feel free to contact us via social media or this website. We’ll also be at the Cardiff University Medsoc Careers Fair at the University Hospital of Wales on the evening of Thursday 22nd November.
