Chris Subbe and WAPS are delighted to be hosting our next face-to-face only symposium – this time in fabulous North Wales after a six-year hiatus!

We will cover recent medical updates and reflect on the current clinical and non-clinical challenges we all face in healthcare. As always, we have a range of sessions and speakers and we especially welcome anyone in acute/general medicine to our event – delivered by our acute medicine multidisciplinary family in Wales and beyond!

Programme Highlights

  • Acute oncology session with Tim Cooksley from The Christie in Manchester and colleagues from North Wales (Pasquale Innominato, Jonathan Sutton and Jenna Allsup) – new treatments and the role of artifical intelligence in cancer detection
  • NICE: our popular collection of clinical guidance updates returns once again
  • The challenge of governance: local expert Ben Thomas and returning external speaker Mark Holland tackle risk and avoiding being sued.
  • We welcome RCP and HEIW legends Hilary Williams and Olwen Williams – focusing on how to enjoy medicine
  • The president of Society for Acute Medicine Nick Murch talking us through the reality of teaching and learning on the job and the president elect Vicky Price exploring sustainability
